Airbus has received a firm order for 12 Airbus A350-800s and 12 A33-200s from Italian airline Air One.
Rapidly expanding Italian airline Air One has placed firm orders for 12 Airbus A350-800s and 12 A33-200s plus options for a further 12 and eight of the respective aircraft, it has been announced.
The airline will use the new planes to develop its network of long-haul routes. In addition to the 24 wide-body aircraft on order from Airbus, Air One also has a global agreement for 90 A320s, 65 of which are firm orders.
Carl Toto, president of Air One, said: "The A330s will give us the best economics and passenger comfort in the medium term, with the A350 providing us with the most efficient and modern aircraft family at the next stage of our growth plans.
"In addition, the commonality of those long range aircraft with our growing A320 fleet in operation brings important savings and benefits."
The A350 XWB (Xtra Wide-Body) family has a range of up to 15,400km and can transport up to 350 passengers, while the A320 can travel up to 12,500km with a maximum passenger load of 250.
Last month, KD Avia, a Russian airline, placed a commitment for the purchase of 25 A319s, its first ever contract with Airbus.
