Tuesday, 28 October 2008

ASI is upgrading CH-46E and UH-1N WSTs for the US.

Aero Simulation Inc (ASI) has been awarded a contract to upgrade Boeing CH-46E Sea Knight and Bell UH-1N Twin Huey weapon systems trainers (WSTs) for the US.

The multi-year upgrade, valued at more than $9 million (£5.8 million), was awarded by the Naval Air Warfare Center's training systems division under the terms of an existing training systems contract with ASI.

ASI will complete major baseline configuration upgrades to the CH-46E and UH-1N WSTs located at bases around the state of California. These improvements include new visual systems and correction of operations discrepancies.

"ASI is pleased with this opportunity to provide the US Marine Corps with major upgrades to these important trainers," said Dr Michael McCarthy, president of the company.

"We appreciate the continued confidence that Navair and the Marine Corps team have shown in our ability to successfully perform this type of work and look forward to working with them to make this program a success."

ASI, which specialises in products and services for commercial and military training systems, is a contractor for Navair, the US Navy's Seaport scheme and the Small Disadvantaged Business certified programme.ADNFCR-1516-ID-18846886-ADNFCR
