A private Russian customer will receive the 100th Grand light twin helicopter from AgustaWestland.
Helicopter manufacturer AgustaWestland (AW) has announced that its 100th Grand light twin helicopter will be delivered to a private Russian customer later this year.
Alexander Shishkin will take ownership of the helicopter and will use it for VIP/corporate transport purposes.
The Grand is a top-of-the-range light twin helicopter with large passenger cabins and a high payload. It has advanced avionics and a low operating cost. To date, nearly 240 orders have been received for the model from 140 customers in 30 different countries.
AW is hoping to see greater success in Russia following the singing of a distribution agreement with Oboronprom Corporation and Loyd's Investment for the establishment of maintenance centres across the country to support its expanding fleet of commercial helicopters.
This week, AW received an order for a Grand helicopter from the Transnet National Port Authority (TNPA) of South Africa, which will use the aircraft for its Harbour Pilot Shuttle service.
TNPA also operates two A109 K2s and one AW109 Power, and has logged more than 10,000 flight hours with AgustaWestland manufactured helicopters. |
