BAE Systems has confirmed that it had made two corporate responsibility (CR) appointments.
Raj Rajagopal is to become CR managing director for BAE Systems, while Deborah Allen will take on the role of CR deputy managing director at the aerospace company.
The two new appointees will be tasked with ensuring the highest standards of CR and ethical conduct are met in every aspect of the Farnborough-based firm's operations.
They will lead a team that is expected to develop, implement and embed CR into BAE Systems' wider agenda, with a particular focus on safety and social issues.
"These are two critically important promotions which reflect the fact that corporate responsibility and high ethical business standards are absolutely central to everything that we do as a business and a key element of executive performance," commented BAE chief executive Ian King.
He added: "This is further evidence - after the appointment of the Woolf Committee and endorsement of all its recommendations - that ethics matters for BAE Systems as a global leader."
