Boeing announces third quarter deliveries
Monday, 06 October 2008

Boeing delivered a total of 84 commercial aeroplanes during the third quarter of the year.

The Boeing Company has released its major programme delivery figures for the third quarter of 2008, revealing a slight decline due to recent strike activity.

The aviation firm's commercial division delivered 67 737 next-generation Boeing aircraft, four 747s, two 767s and 11 777s for a total of 84 planes.

So far this year, Boeing has delivered 325 commercial aircraft including 254 next-generation 737s and 50 777s.

The statistics suggest that Boeing delivered an average of 36 aircraft in July and August, a rate which would have seen it deliver 108 units in the three month period, had it not been for the September strikes. Last year, the company recorded 109 deliveries in the third quarter.

Boeing's integrated defence systems division, meanwhile, was responsible for delivering four new-build Chinook helicopters, four C-17 Globemaster III airlifters, seven F-15 Eagles and 12 F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growlers.

Despite the slip in deliveries, Boeing booked 11 more commercial aircraft orders last week to bring its year-to-date total to 623. ADNFCR-1516-ID-18812420-ADNFCR
