Embraer delivers E-170 to Regional
Monday, 08 September 2008

Embraer has delivered the first E-170 jet aircraft to Regional, a subsidiary of the Air France Group.

Brazilian aviation firm Embraer has delivered the first of nine E-170 jet airliners to Regional - Compagnie Aerienne Europeenne, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Air France Group.

The French Airline received the Embraer 170 jet configured in a 76-seat single-class layout. The aircraft will enter service this week, operating on a number of domestic and pan-European routes.

Regional is Embraer's largest customer in Europe, currently operating a fleet including 48 Embraer aircraft - six E-190s, 28 ERJ 145s, nine ERJ 135s and five EMB 120 Brasilias.

"The delivery of the first Embraer 170 to our largest customer in Europe, just two years after the airline received its first Embraer 190, is an especially proud moment for us," noted Mauro Kern, executive vice-president of airline markets at Embraer.

"It is gratifying to see that the operational flexibility and the commonality gains of the two E-Jets models in the same fleet will maximise the benefits to Regional and its discerning customers."

Last month, Embraer revealed that steady progress is being made on the development of its recently-launched mid-size Legacy 450 Legacy 500executive jets. It recently concluded the preliminary aircraft design stage and has already selected suppliers for key systems.ADNFCR-1516-ID-18768387-ADNFCR
