Tuesday, 03 June 2008

Embraer has signed a new contract for the sale of two Embraer 190 jets to the Brazilian government for the transport of official personnel.

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has announced the sale of two of its Embraer 190 jets to the Brazilian government.

The jets, which will be configured especially to meet the needs of the government, will be used to transport official personnel.

To this end, they will be operated by the Special Transportation Group of the Brazilian Air Force, and will serve the president, ministries and presidential departments, as well as officials from the legislative and judiciary branches of the republic.

"It will be an honour and a source of pride for all of Embraer's employees to see our Embraer 190 flying in the colors of the Federal Republic of Brazil," said the company's president, Frederico Fleury Curado.

He added that the aircraft model had been a success around the world because of the comfort, safety, performance and economical operations that it provides. The jets will have the capacity to carry up to 40 passengers across the South American region.

Last month, the aircraft manufacturer celebrated the 25th anniversary of its operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), which began with the establishment of offices at Le Bourget Airport in Paris, France, in 1983.ADNFCR-1516-ID-18621394-ADNFCR
