Embraer's E-Jets reach flight milestone
Tuesday, 21 October 2008

The E-170/190 family of Embraer jets have clocked up two million miles of flight hours.

The E-Jets range of Embraer 170/190 aircraft has collectively clocked up more than two million operational flight hours, it has been revealed.

According to Embraer, its global fleet of E-Jets in active service currently totals over 450 jets flying for 50 airlines in over 30 different countries, and is rapidly expanding.

The family's four jets - the Embraer 170, 175, 190 and 195 - now each operate on all continents.

Thanks to their design and Embraer's provision of aftermarket services, just 0.2 per cent of E-Jets flights are cancelled due to technical problems.

Mauro Kern, Embraer's executive vice-president of airline markets, claimed that E-Jets have been helping to increase the efficiency of airlines since they entered operation.

"The rapid expansion of the fleet of E-Jets, both in geographical terms and in the diversity of airlines that are already operating with this modern jet family, is based on the enormous flexibility that these aircraft offer," he added.

Last week, Embraer revealed that it had delivered 48 jets in the third quarter of the year and has increased production by 34 per cent year-over-year in the first three periods of 2008.ADNFCR-1516-ID-18836459-ADNFCR
