Flybe Aviation Services has been named an authorised aircraft maintenance centre for Embraer aircraft.
Embraer has signed a five-year contract with UK firm Flybe Aviation Services (FAS) naming the regional maintenance company as an authorised service centre for ERJ 145 and E-Jets aircraft.
A subsidiary of Exeter-based airline Flybe - which is also a customer in the Embraer Parts Pool Programme - FAS will have access to structure-specific repair solutions direct from Embraer.
The maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) centre, which is located at Exeter International Airport, will be authorised to handle airframe and warranty issues on behalf of its customers.
Leandro Laia, vice-president of customer support at Embraer, said: "Flybe Aviation Services will provide qualified maintenance for Embraer commercial jets.
"We see this partnership as a very good opportunity to offer our customers a broader network of authorised service centres.
Embraer, which is currently looking to expand its global MRO network, held a maintenance cost workshop earlier this month, in which it dialogued with operators, suppliers and service centres to find ways of reducing maintenance costs. |
