The first of 13 ordered Boeing 737-700s has been delivered to KLM airlines.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has taken delivery of its first new Boeing 737-700.
In an official statement, the carrier revealed that the 737-700 arrived at Schiphol on Tuesday (August 26th).
It is more environmentally-friendly than the planes currently featured in the airline's fleet as it produces less CO2 and uses seven per cent less fuel on long-haul flights.
Set to service European destinations, KLM's 737-700 has a 129-passenger capacity.
The new plane is the first of 13 737-700s ordered by KLM, which launched a "vigorous fleet renewal program" in 2002. Another three 737-700s are due to be delivered later this year.
Commenting on the new aircraft, KLM said: "Fleet renewal at KLM means investing in sustainability. The new aircraft produce less CO2 as they feature new-generation engines. Their winglets improve the aircrafts aerodynamics and therefore reduce CO2 emissions further." Earlier this year, KLM introduced the new Boeing 777-300ER on long-haul flights.
