An airline from Mozambique has ordered two Embraer 190 aircraft.
Linhas Aereas de Mocambique (Lam) has signed a firm order for two Embraer 190 jets and acquired purchase rights for two more.
In total, the new contract will cost the airline from Mozambique $75 million, based on current list prices, a figure that could double if both purchase rights are exercised.
Lam will receive E-190s configured in a dual-class layout featuring nine seats in first class and 84 in economy. The first delivery is scheduled for the second semester of 2009.
Mauro Kern, executive vice-president of Embraer's airline market division, said: "It is a privilege to have our E-Jets chosen as a tool for modernising LAM's fleet.
"The company will expand its presence in the domestic segment and in the southern region of Africa, and will be able to offer its customers advanced, reliable, and highly comfortable service."
Last month Embraer announced that it has delivered 145 jets to customers in the first three quarters of 2008, reaffirming its target of 195 aircraft deliveries in 2008. |
