Embraer has sold an E-195 jet to Montenegro Airlines.
Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has announced the sale of an E-195 jet to Montenegro Airlines.
In addition to buying its first E-Jet, the European carrier has also signed purchase rights for two more aircraft of the same design. If all options are exercised, the value of the deal is estimated at $118.5 million (£65 million).
The E-195 is configured to seat 116 passengers in a single-class layout, and is expected to be delivered some time next year. It will be used for key European markets, including routes to destinations such as London and Moscow.
"We are honored by Montenegro Airlines' decision, and happy to offer its passengers the most modern and comfortable experience on the market," said Mauro Kern, Embraer executive-vice president of airline markets.
Last June, Montenegro began operating a leased Embraer 195 from GE Commercial Aviation Services, a contract which prompted them to invest in their own aircraft. The carrier will be leasing another aircraft of the same model next year, to take its fleet to three Embraer 195s.
Earlier this month, Embraer delivered an Embraer 170 jet to Regional, a subsidiary of Air France, the first of nine such aircraft ordered by the French carrier. |
