NGC wins large logistic support contract
Friday, 15 August 2008

The US Air Force has awarded Northrop Gruman Corporation with a logistics support contract for C-20 aircraft.

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has been awarded a $250 million (£135 million) logistics support contract to provide support for C-20 aircraft.

Unlike performance-based logistics (PBL) contracts, the new award is a fixed-price deal, for the provision of contractor services to US Air Force (USAF), Navy and Marine Corps C-20s over the next four years.

NGC will provide depot maintenance, contractor operational and maintained base supply, flight line maintenance and field team support to C-20s at multiple bases across the US and abroad.

"We're proud to lead this team of sustainment experts to support worldwide airlift missions for such customers as the secretaries of state and defense, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff and other high-ranking government officials," said Dave Werkheiser, of NGC's technical services sector.

He explained that the company's combined capabilities with those of its partners will provide "superior value" to customers who require on-demand aircraft availability and rapid response to unforeseen events around the world.

Recently, the Republic of Korea Air Force selected NGC to provide 21 ALQ-135M electronic combat systems to its fleet of F-15K jet fighters.ADNFCR-1516-ID-18735399-ADNFCR
