Bombardier Aerospace has announced that Toronto's Porter Airlines has signed a contract to purchase two 70-seat Q400 turboprop aircraft, converting pre-existing options.
The planes will be the 15th and 16th Q400 aircraft to be ordered by Porter, from an original order for ten firm and ten options placed in 2006.
The total value of the latest order is estimated to be in the region of $52 million (£29.5 million), based on current list prices.
"The Q400 airliner is one of the most fuel-efficient aircraft in its class," said Gary Scott, president of Bombardier Commercial Aircraft.
"With a 360-knot (667 kmph) cruise speed and other features, the Q400 aircraft has established itself as the benchmark for comfort, efficiency and low emissions."
Last month, Synergy Aerospace placed a firm order for a Learjet 85 aircraft, which will be operated by OceanAir's charter service business unit in Brazil.
