Bell has delivered a 412EP model medium life helicopter to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFR) has received a Bell 412EP model medium life helicopter that it will deploy on 24-hour emergency response operations.
The helicopter joins a model 212 Bell helicopter already in operation by the department's air support division.
Bob Fitzpatrick, senior vice-president for marketing and sales at Bell, explained that there is a growing need for medium lift helicopters to support urban emergency operations.
"The Bell 412's reliability makes it an ideal helicopter for this type of mission. When you need a helicopter that you know will be able to perform day in and day out, people the world over count on Bell," Mike Blake, executive vice-president for customer solutions added.
The Bell 412 is deployed by customers throughout the world for operations including fire fighting, law enforcement, offshore oil exploration, emergency medical transport and corporate transport.
Last month, Bell announced plans to expand its military aircraft assembly centre in Texas, in order to increase production of both the H-1 and Bell Boeing V-22 aircraft. |
