Secom receives AW109 Power |

AgustaWestland has delivered an AW109 Power helicopter to a Japanese security company.
Japanese security firm Secom has taken delivery of its corporate-configured AW109 Power helicopter, AgustaWestland (AW) has revealed.
The helicopter was delivered through AW's Japanese intermediary, Kaigai Aviotech Corporation, which completed final customisations on the aircraft after receiving it in the summer.
It has now achieved operational readiness and will enter active service, carrying out various transport duties for Secom.
To date, more than 460 AW109 Power helicopters have been ordered by commercial and government customers in nearly 50 different countries, making it a leader in the light-twin corporate transport market.
The AW109 Power has a spacious cabin, high safety reliability and a maximum cruise speed of 154 knots (285 km/h), up to 20 per cent higher than other vehicles in its weight class.
In other news, newly-named AW subsidiary UI Helicopters has established a new service centre in the Republic of Korea that will provide aftermarket services and support for all AW helicopters in the region by the end of 2008. |
