SAS will provide maintenance to HH-60s operated by the US Coast Guard.
Sikorsky's aftermarket services division, Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS), has won a contract worth $687,000 (£439,000) to provide the US Coast Guard with support work for its fleet of HH-60 Jayhawks.
Under the terms of the contract, SAS will carry out repairs on 18 HH-60J helicopter spindle assemblies as well as replacing five main rotor blades and two tail rotor blades.
The work will be conducted by Sikorsky's overhaul and repair team.
"We look forward to continuing this successful relationship as we work to meet the customer requirements that keep the fleet ready for the important work that it does," said Joe Coleman, director of SAS' overhaul and repair team.
The HH-60J is a twin-engine, medium-range search and rescue (SAR) helicopter derived from the SH-60 Seahawk. It is also similar to the HH-60 Pave Hawk, a search and rescue derivative of the US Air Force's UH-60 Black Hawk utility helicopter.
The Jawyhawk was developed by the Sikorsky in order to replace the Coast Guard's aging fleet of HH-3F Pelican helicopters in 1986. |
