Sikorsky has been demonstrating the mission capabilities of its H-92 Superhawk helicopter in Europe.
The H-92 Superhawk helicopter has completed a tour of exhibitions in nine European countries over the past several weeks.
The new multi-purpose rotorcraft, a military variant of Sikorsky's S-92 medium-life twin-engine helicopter, demonstrated its mission capabilities in Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Greece.
Sikorsky hopes to drum up further interest in the new variant - scheduled for introduction into service in 2009 - by showing off its strengths to a European audience.
Bruce McKinney, vice-president of Sikorsky Europe, explained that the helicopter has received a very positive response from customers throughout the continent.
"Those who have had the opportunity to see the H-92 helicopter these last few months in Eastern and Central Europe have been impressed by its unique combination of a large cabin, robust mission capabilities and low operating cost," he said.
Earlier this month, Sikorsky's Aerospace Services division announced that it has signed $11.8 million (£6.8 million) in contracts to provide the US Army's aviation and missile command division with support for its UH-60A/L helicopters. |
