Sikorsky Aerospace Services has announced the opening of a regional spare parts stocking facility in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS), the newly rebranded aftermarket services division of helicopter manufacturer Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation has opened a regional spare parts stocking facility in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia.
The facility will be operated in partnership with logistics services specialist DHL, and will receive, stock and ship a large number of spare parts to support Sikorsky's customers in Asia operating civil S-61, S-76 and S-92 rotorcraft.
David Adler, president of SAS, said: "This is an important step for Sikorsky Aerospace Services that should significantly improve our ability to support our valued customers in Southeast Asia.
"It is a region where we are experiencing significant growth and expect that trend to continue well into the future. Our customers expect world-class support, and we intend to deliver just that.
In March, Sikorsky announced that it has begun establishing the supply chain for the S-70i International Black Hawk helicopter programme, and is developing plans for the aircraft's final assembly operations to take place at its Polish facility in Mielec.
