Sikorsky Aerospace Services is to provide aerial refuelling capabilities to 13 USAF H-60 helicopters.
Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) has announced a contract to provide the US Air Force (USAF) with 13 aerial refuelling assemblies for H-60 helicopters.
SAS, the aftermarket services division of Sikorsky Aircraft, will supply the fuel probe assemblies in a contract worth approximately $2 million (£1 million).
George Mitchell, director of material, logistics and spares at the company, said: "The refuel assemblies enable in-flight aircraft refuelling, which increases the helicopters' range, saving valuable time and expanding the mission and role of the aircraft."
SAS provides a range of aftermarket services through its various subsidiaries which include Helicopter Support, Sikorsky Aerospace Mainenance and Composite Technology. Together, they allow the group to provide comprehensive total care contracts.
Earlier this month, SAS announced a five-year contract to provide operations and maintenance support to Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior (MoI) for its fleet of S-92, S-76 and S-434 helicopters.
Last year, the MoI ordered 16 S-92 multi-mission helicopters, 15 S-76s and nine S-434 training helicopters - part of a major expansion to its helicopter fleet. |
