Boeing has delivered two 737-800 aircraft to Brazilian carrier Varig Airlines.
The Boeing Company has announced delivery of two next-generation (NG) 737-800 turbofan airliners to Varig Airlines, a Brazilian aviation company.
Both jetliners have been delivered sporting a new livery - a starburst design that covers the tail of the plane.
The 737-800s are also equipped with blended winglets and a special short-field performance package designed to improve flight efficiency and the aircrafts' capabilities on short runways respectively.
"The Boeing NG 737 family combines low operating costs with high performance, enabling our low-cost carrier business to succeed throughout South America," said Fernando Rockert de Magalhaes, vice president of Varig.
A third 737-800 is currently undergoing pre-delivery flight tests and is scheduled for delivery to Varig later this year.
Earlier this week, the aircraft manufacturer announced an order from EgyptAir for two 777-300ER (extended range) jetliners as part of the airline's long-haul twin-aisle fleet upgrade. |
