Aerogility is enhancing its team with the appointment of Simon Miles as Head of AI.

Miles joins Aerogility with an extensive background in AI research and education, most recently having spent 15 years as an academic at King’s College London. Whilst there, he also founded and led the Centre of Urban Science and Progress London, a mission to support interdisciplinary research and innovation using data science.

Within his role, Miles’ focus will be on the modelling aspect of Aerogility’s platform, in which agents represent the specific operations within an organisation so that fleet or asset teams can simulate those actions and make effective, optimised plans. Specifically, he will work on the cross-client functionality of the platform, adding to its sophistication and robustness.
Miles will also help Aerogility to develop and enact a clear plan and process to assess and incorporate novel AI techniques wherever they can, directly helping the complex planning and simulation needs of every client.

Gary Vickers, Aerogility CEO, said, “Simon’s specialist expertise in model-based AI will provide vital insight as we continue to enhance our software and consolidate Aerogility’s position within high-value asset industries. Specifically, Simon will articulate the distinctiveness of the AI capabilities within Aerogility for external audiences and strengthen the skills of our developers’ AI techniques.”

Miles said, “What attracted me to Aerogility was its distinct and effective use of AI techniques to solve complex practical problems, and the team’s ambition to widen the scope of both what their technology can do and where it will be applied. I am looking forward to developing Aerogility’s core technology in order to address needs in diverse business areas and ensure that the innovative, interesting model-based AI approach that Aerogility takes is widely recognised.”
