“Aerogility has provided us the means to be proactive in forecasting maintenance capacity against demand.”

Europe’s leading airline, easyJet, has partnered with Aerogility since 2017. In those five years, the alliance has developed and by implementing Aerogility’s model-based AI solution, easyJet is now able to proactively identify dynamically changing maintenance requirements in advance and plan accordingly.

Using Aerogility’s AI-based, multi-agent software, easyJet achieves higher aircraft utilization and increased cost efficiency for maintenance. The easyJet team has improved the forecasting of its high value maintenance activities and increased visibility to the business of critical maintenance and engineering work.

With the integration of Aerogility’s software, easyJet simulates flying its fleet over future years and the response of its maintenance and engineering organization, predicting when maintenance events should occur. These forecasts include the integrated analysis of major systems — airframe, power plant and landing gear. Aerogility automatically generates optimized schedules which easyJet can analyse and edit to maximize the number of aircraft flying and the number of seats available for customers. This allows the airline’s planning team to respond quickly to the day-to-day needs of the fleet.

Gary Vickers, CEO, Aerogility, said, “Over the last five years we have enabled a highly productive planning team at easyJet to manage the expansion of their fleet and optimize multiple maintenance programmes. Our interactive AI was also utilized during the difficult period of COVID-19, to provide resolutions and support easyJet’s decision making in times of great uncertainty.

“We are looking forward to expanding the reach of the Aerogility system, to support commercial and sustainability ‘what-ifs’ and deliver world-class airline forecasting and planning solutions.”

Swaran Sidhu, Head of Fleet Technical Management, easyJet, said, “Aerogility has provided us the means to be proactive in forecasting maintenance capacity against demand. Aerogility listened to us as a customer and the result of that has been great in terms of the evolution of this software.

Since day one, Aerogility has delivered an innovative and cost-effective maintenance planning solution for us. It’s given us the ability to explore the long-term maintenance planning of our fleet with the capability to not only make a late change to the plan but at the same time understand the impact of that decision operationally and economically, which has allowed us to efficiently maximize our fleet use. We are really excited by the enhanced maintenance forecasting and planning capabilities this gives our team, and we look forward to the next stage of implementation: fleet management and end-of-lease optimization.”
