Wizz Air selects AI from Aerogility for future fleet maintenance planning
Wizz Air will leverage Aerogility’s model-based AI to plan the integration of new aircraft and efficiently manage heavy base maintenance for its dynamically growing fleet. Taking advantage of Aerogility’s latest capability, Wizz Air can now forecast heavy base maintenance needs for both the existing fleet and for aircraft that have not yet been introduced into the fleet, to support their large planned increase in aircraft over the next 5 years.
By creating a digital twin of Wizz Air’s entire maintenance operation, Aerogility will generate accurate forecasts based on a comprehensive view of aircraft usage, operational constraints and resource availability. Aerogility will seamlessly integrates with Wizz Air’s AMOS platform to seed in the relevant data and then using these Aerogility generated insights, Wizz Air can plan and execute heavy base maintenance at the optimal time, reducing unnecessary downtime and MRO cost, and assess all aspects of operations, from the beginning to the end of an aircraft’s lifecycle, whilst increasing aircraft availability.
The deployment of Aerogility’s platform comes at a crucial time for the airline, with its exponential growth benefiting from Aerogility’s proactive insights, to ensure its fleet can meet increasing passenger demand while maintaining the highest safety and efficiency standards.
Adrian Lecea, Long Term Planning Manager, Wizz Air, says, “Considering Wizz actual fleet of more than 200 AC, and with the plan of duplicating the fleet size over the next 5 years, the need for sophisticated maintenance planning solutions becomes increasingly vital. Not only does Aerogility provide crucial insight into current fleet planning and maintenance, but its solutions also permits us to plan our future fleet across a decade, ensuring our MRO capacity planning and fleet availability. The advanced AI platform will allow us to simulate planning and multiple maintenance scenarios, ensuring that decisions are made with the highest level of accuracy and foresight.”
Wizz Air’s commitment to Aerogility is a testament to its recently released Customer First Compass initiative. With this AI based software, the airline remains committed to next-level travel, with over 300 new aircraft on order. The airline is dedicated to operating one of the youngest, safest, and most fuel-efficient fleets in the industry. Expanding its reach across Europe, Africa, Central Asia, East Asia, and the Middle East, Wizz Air is focused on providing passengers with low-fare intercontinental travel to exciting new destinations with the Airbus A321 XLR aircraft. Embracing a 100% digital-first mindset, Wizz Air ensures that customers’ journeys are seamless from booking to boarding.
Malcolm Bridgeford, CEO, Aerogility, says, “Our model-driven AI solutions are designed to handle the complexity of modern aviation maintenance planning, providing trusted insights and robust decision support to the Wizz Air team. The ability to make data-driven decisions about maintenance schedules ensures that its fleet will remain in peak condition and state of readiness.
Working with this leading airline marks another step in Aerogility’s expansion plans by extending our presence across Europe, supporting our commitment to continued growth and innovation into 2025 and beyond.”
